LIB 2016 sold out

May 20, 2016 By Michael

11th Annual Lightning in a Bottle

Tickets are  SOLD OUT – Thank You!

Lightning in a Bottle – Bradley, CA – A week out from the West Coast’s premiere camping, arts, music and yoga festival, Lightning in a Bottle is thrilled to announce that tickets for the 11th annual gathering are officially SOLD OUT! Growing consciously since the festival’s first year in 2005, LIB is proud to have hit full capacity just ahead of its largest festival to date at 20,000 tickets sold.

While both the 2-Day and 4-Day festival passes are now sold out, several 4-Day passes can still be obtained with the purchase of a Boutique Camping package. Additionally, current pass holders can also upgrade to Boutique camping packages as well as purchase Lightning Bus tickets and/or an Early Arrival Pass, which will allow them to enter the festival a day early on Wednesday May 25.

LIB production house Do LaB, and its vast array of magic-makers, would like to thank everyone for their amazing support for Lightning in a Bottle 2016!  Celebrating in the office, Jesse Shannon, aka Y2, Director of Marketing says, “This day is 11 years in the making. From 2005 when we first sold tickets to 2016, this is the first time Lightning in a Bottle has sold out before gates open. I’m so proud of the team and it’s a testament to all the hard work that everyone does to create such an incredible festival.” These sentiments are echoed in the laborious efforts put forth by Do LaB in the days leading up to the festival, with most of the team already on site creating, constructing and injecting love into every aspect of LIB.

Watch the teaser video here and feel the excitement:

A cacao ceremony, Village Permaculture Action Day hosted by LIB 2016 artist Polish Ambassador and access to the newly-established High Grounds camp are among new initiatives in 2016. Purchase your Early Arrival Pass here.

Go GREEN! In addition to the Action Day, Do LaB has several other leading initiatives in place to ensure the grounds stay beautiful for years to come! Recycling, compost and landfill receptacles will be found on the festival grounds, and as always, LIB 2016 will be a “pack-it-in, pack-it-out event,” meaning that Do LaB asks that all guests take everything they brought into the festival out with them after the festival ends — campground trash included. A friendly reminder that plastic water bottles are not sold at LIB, so don’t forget to bring your own reusable container!

Familiarize yourself with Lightning in a Bottle and the grounds ahead of the festival. Look over Do LaB’s Thrive Guide for a refresh on festivaling with intention and mindfulness, Camp like a champ and find your way to San Antonio Recreational Area.  And don’t forget to plan your dance party for the weekend — the set times for 2016’s lineup are out now.

He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister

A rocking band traveling the West-coast & Mid-west USA.

He’s my Brother She’s my Sister, aka HMBSMS, is a band with flare, touch, tap, and style. A unique approach to music and crowd participation. In fact they invited some of the wildest and bravest crowd members to sing with them on stage. HMBSMS has a very heavy tour schedule, and is constantly on the move. After seeing He is my brother she is my sister in Eugene, Oregon, I had to talk with them. The band members were kind enough to agree to a phone interview (click here). The night was clear, the flow of beer, and the music was here at Sam Bond’s Garage.  The sibling vocal harmonies were noticeable in the incredibly cohesive sound despite the Rob having the flue, and sweating profusely during the entire show.  The percussionist Lauren, standing on a kick drum tap-dancing, danced with enthusiasm and a purpose.  Rachel’s beautiful vocals and occasional tambourine shakes kept the flare alive.   With walking bass lines and sliding lap-steal guitar, the sound was keyed in.  HMBSMS opened up the microphone up to other members of the audience, who gratefully grabbed the mic to scat and howl the night away.  With a taste of Eugene, this band wanted a little more, entertaining an encore to the fans delight.  To read more about the show & hear from three members of the band in an interview found only hear on FreioMusic

With an extremely heavy tour schedule, the band will likely be within a couple hours away (if you are in the USA) from your home town.  Check out their tour schedule here:

Mr. RaW

May 31, 2012 By William Leave a Comment

This artist we’re about to profile is a motivated individual, who’s making the necessary moves to prosper in the world of Hip-Hop. A few years ago he packed up shop and moved to LA, where he could further his ambitions as a lyricist and get noticed. Let’s get to know this guy.

Stage Name: Mr.RaW

Birth Name: Taylor Batts

Age: 21

Hometown: Park Hill, Colorado

First instrument: Piano at age 8

Current instrument: Vocals

Genre/style: Hip-Hop

What artists have influenced your sound?

“Artists like 2pac, Rakim, Eminem, Nas, NWA, and Kanye had an impact on me. I don’t really sound like any of these artist but they motivate me to create an original sound just like they did.”

If you could describe your musical style in 3 words, what would you say?

“I wouldn’t need three words, just three letters R a W, it’s all in the name. My goal as an artist is to get better every single day, I’m privileged enough to breath. So I continue to push myself harder and harder to reach my full potential of becoming the RaWest to ever do it. To some it may seem like I am pretty far off, but if they can see where I started and where I am now they would know that goal isn’t to far fetched. My project Rebuild and Recover should help people get more familiar with my passion for music. I do what I do for my city, and I live by the motto that “Rest Is For Billionaires” (Rif.B).”

4ESH!  USA- Miami, Florida
Gucci Gucci (4ESH!’s Dubstep FreioRemix)

Names: Alejandro Diaz, Javier Lopez

Style and Influences:

“4ESH! started when myself (Alejandro Diaz “DT0X”) and my long time high school friend (Javier Lopez “Avilo”) decided to collab and create music. I started when I was 17 and now we are 23 and 25. We love creating all genres of electronic music but prefer electro house. We have too many influences both in our genre and outside said genre to name. We have a nice following here in Miami but want to expand our horizon.”

Young Hamm:  USA- Denver, Colorado
Gucci Gucci ft Yung Hamm-Mr RaW-Still RaW

Name: Kenneth Henderson

Collaboration with:  Mr.RaW

Style and Influences:

“I started writing music at the age of 13 and recorded my first song on my 14th birthday. I remember that day like it was just yesterday, I rapped over Nas, Lil Wayne, and Cassidy instrumentals. Since a young age i had always loved music and had that feeling that not only could i create music, but i could be good if not great at it. If i had to make a Top 5 MC list it would be 2pac,Nas,Andre 3000,Lauryn Hill and Common, No specific order. These are the MC’s who inspired me the most, but i studied so many more if not everyone before me. I love what the young/new up and coming artist are doing for the game (J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, K.R.I.T.,Curren$y, Wale) and i think that its up to US to bring it back to what people grew to love. With my music i try to be unique and not just chase after the next hit song. I push hard to make music that I want to make first, then make sure it is something real and easy to relate to. I love to make people think and broaden their imagination while listening to my music, rather it be just a lyric that might go over your head or a whole song concept that makes you want to dig deeper. My main goals with my music are just to be heard and make a person feel emotions while listening, even angry. If i know i can make a person upset and piss them off with my music, then i know its possible to make them smile, then laugh, cry then ultimately go out and search for their biological parents or something. The last but first thing that i do it for is my city, DENVER. There is so much unheard talent out here it kills me to listen to ‘local’ artist. I have always said i dont care if im the first through the door, the last, or the most famous. I will be satisfied knowing that i played a role in opening the door for this ‘Denver Renaissance Movement’. I know everyone cant be the star, If im not a Martin Luther King, what’s wrong with being W.E.B. DuBois?

Now or Never (Instrumental) by ashelynsummers

“I use session musicians for the recordings, so it varies a bit by track. I list the credits for each song on my website These are the regulars:

1) Jennifer Takahashi – piano
2) Jervy Hou – piano
3) Hiro Goto – violin, viola
4) Irina Chirkova – cello
5) Dave Stone – double bass
6) Mick Taras – guitar
7) Drew Allsbrook – bass guitar
8) John Ferraro – drums

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wszkii5pr9k&w=560&h=345%5D

I asked Ashelyn what inspires her. She replied, “I am classically trained vocally, and much of my songwriting is inspired by composers such as Nobuo Uematsu and Sergei Rachmaninov. I like to incorporate classical techniques into my songs, and I seek to always use real instruments, as a digital counterpart can never fully recreate the nuanced timbre of a live cello, piano, etc. I believe there is great beauty in the complexity of classical compositions, and I hope to one day be able to emulate them more completely.” Well said! *Ashelyn, you are going somewhere! Where ever your music travels, take the us with you. Stay Tuned!*
