Bass rattles an oasis. Just inland of the Oregon coast, the experiment has already begun. The tranquil location of Tide Water Falls was transformed under the title, Human Nature, a three day electronic music experience by Every Element. Even the trees were bumpin’. What is human nature? Instinct? The uninhibited self? Is it the pursing of desire and the evading of the rational? It didn’t matter what you came there for, only that you danced your ass off once you got there. The 24 hour music line-up began in an ambient morning trance and picked up as the sun set and the dance beats to dropped. Local west coast DJs and a few non-natives commanded the stage as lasers painted the trees above in a floresent green as a central bonfire raged. The Horning’s Hideout type venue metamorphosed into one impressive light show display that churned even the sober festivarian’s mind. Artists including TREAVOR MOONTRIBE, LUKE MANDALA, KOSTA, and THE DREAM DUSTERS created steady dance vibes for crowd to get back to human nature. A live painting display dome provided by Renaissance Raven too made the shift from a daytime majestic art house into a wild light show jungle gym. The second stage lacked merely people to fill its audience despite the trippy live video projections. Two things the festival lacked? A portable watering hole and about 150 people. But without water, its a good thing they didn’t show. Human Nature, especially with the backdrop of Tide Water Falls, has the incredible capacity to grow after its first year in this niche Oregon festival scene. All in all, a raver’s dream at a dream venue. No bag or car check, face melting light show, and turbulent electronic music for three days straight.
