Corvos: from Lisbon, Portugal
Taking classical string instruments and beautifully transforming them in the name of rock music, Corvos is molding a unique yet familiar sound. It is a sound that embodies the boldness of an orquestra and the energy and passion of rock and roll. The band’s influences include genre defining musicians such as The Doors, Nirvana, and the Kronos Quartet. Two cover albums and three original, the dedication and incredible musicianship is apparent with their complex arrangements. Members include Luis Santos on the viola, Cláudio Nunes on cello, Pedro Teixeira da Silva on the 1st violin, Tiago Flores on 2nd violin, and Pedro Silva on the drums. Their sound is moving and unmatched, deep and soulful. I highly recommend listening to ”Do you really love me”. It is hauntingly romantic and tells a mesmerizing story that impossible not to close your eyes and follow.
